Dinosaurs Will Die: Oryctodromeus
Hazy IPA w/ Idaho 7, Idaho Gem, El Dorado and Mosaic Hops
Oryctodromeus or “Digging Runner, is named after the dinosaur species that lived in Idaho and Western Montana during the middle Cretaceous period. About the size of a large dog, this herbivore would burrow below the ground in order to remain hidden to larger carnivorous dinosaurs.
Oryctodromeus begins with a massive base grain bill of nearly 40% oats for our delightfully pillowy-soft mouthfeel. The nose erupts like a tropical fruit salad with notes of passion fruit, guava, and pineapple, followed by hints of resinous pine. Sticky hop oil coats the tongue with each sip, leading way to incredible layers of fresh fruit. A pleasant bitterness rounds out the flavor, leading the character to build a bridge between beer and juice, at some points nearly tasting like a glass of Dole, while being a beautifully rounded IPA.
The wonderful tropical and fruit driven character of Oryctodromeus makes for an adventurous, yet pleasant drinking experience as we enter the dog days of Oregon’s summer!
