The “Oregon I Am” beer series is brought to you by 30 conservation nonprofits and 8 Oregon breweries – celebrating a new illustrated map of 81 outdoor places you can visit, thanks to the organizations with the Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts. Explore the map at theoregoniam.org

In honor of our home watershed, the McKenzie River – and all the other watershed that help us create beer – we’ve crafted a hazy extra pale ale brewed with all Oregon-grown ingredients to create a beautifully hazy beer erupting with notes of sweet fruit, pine, and citrus.

We decided that a beer celebrating Oregon needed to be brewed with all Oregon-grown ingredients, all farmed using water from one of Oregon’s great watersheds. The grain used was 100% Mecca Grade Estate Malt grown in Madras, OR by the Klann Family. The three experimental hop varieties we used in our hazy pale ale – Anchor, McKenzie WCHB 148, and WCHB 2B – were grown by Pay Leavy of Oregon Hophouse, a certified organic farm and the first certified organic hop farm in Oregon. Being able to focus on such local ingredients served as inspiration for a fresh and bright beer, crisp and reminiscent of the McKenzie River itself. With this beer, we are hoping to showcase and celebrate all the bounty that Oregon has to offer.
