2 New Oakshire Beers Feature Oregon-Grown Centennial & Chinook Wet Hops

by amanda | Published: July 19, 2012This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Oregon Brewers Festival and we’ve crafted a special commemorative beer just for the occasion, aptly named ‘25’. This Imperial Oregon Ale has 25 ingredients; many sourced in Oregon, and contains 25 International Bittering Units. It is medium to light bodied, with a soft bitterness, and a slightly fruit forward flavor. We used two kinds of locally sourced honey; plus, cranberries, hazelnuts, citrus orange peels, and a host of spices & herbs.

by amanda | Published: July 12, 2012Our new Belgian Style Farmhouse Ale is 100% organic and makes for a refreshing beverage on a hot summer evening. Not only did we send this beer up to Portland to be served at the 2012 North American Organic Beer festival, but we saved enough to be poured in our Tasting Room. ‘Save the Farmhouse Ale’ is a hazy, golden colored beer that finishes dry with a mild bitterness. The spicy aroma really makes this ale one of a kind.

Off Piste Pale ale, our Back Country Skiing inspired American Pale ale. At about 5.5% it's very drinkable and flavorful. It uses a new hop blend Zythos. This one is nearly gone, hoard it where you can. We made this beer with Van Havig and Ben Love of the soon to be opened Gigantic Brewing. We decided to salute the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar. Because we can't drive 55, it is made to 56 ibus, 1.056 OG and uses 1056 Ale yeast. It is also made with Agave Syrup and a squeeze of lime.
