Rätsel arrives in Oakshire’s Single Batch Series

Our newest arrival to the Single Batch Series just might shake up what you know about beer styles.

Rätsel is an ale made with 50% wheat malt (red wheat, white wheat, flaked wheat and carawheat), but that’s where the similarities with your typical wheat ale style ends. It is red in color and aggressively hopped with American Hops (Nugget, Centennial, Citra, Amarillo) and then dry hopped with Amarillo Hops. The heavy handed hopping gives it a pungent nose of citrus hops, a touch of floral, and a slight fruity balance in the aroma. It is a medium to lighter bodied beer with a sharp snap of hops and a tangy citrus hop flavor that lingers over the mid palette. The finishes tarries there a bit, reminding you that this is not your father’s Hefeweizen!

Cheers! Matt
